Multi-Day Camp Q&A
What is the purpose of a camp?
Camps are multi-day, immersive experiences that allow for progression beyond what you would normally get out of a one day clinic or lesson. You will ski or ride with the same group and coach each day, which will allow for deeper connections and the opportunity to take your sliding to the next level. We currently offer a skin and ski backcountry and big mountain camp, women’s camps, and an early season performance camp. What is included in the price of my camp?
In addition to your time on snow with our pros, we offer lunches for all of our camps. Breakfasts and dinner are included with select camps. For our 3 day/2 night camps we also offer optional lodging and transportation. Please see the sample schedule and description of each camp for a full list of amenities.Do I need to buy a lift ticket?
Our camps do not include lift access. We recommend purchasing your lift ticket when you reserve your spot in the camps. Booking in advance will help you save. What level of skier or rider do I need to be to attend camp?
All of our camps are catered toward intermediate to advanced skiers and riders. At a minimum, you should be able to comfortably ski parallel or connect heel and toe-side turns on your board while on blue groomed runs. The exception to this rule is our backcountry camp, which is for skiers only and requires you to ski at an advanced level. You should be comfortable with black diamond terrain and off-piste to attend this camp.Is safety equipment required?
If you are a participant in our backcountry camp, we require you bring your own skins, backcountry-capable skis/boots, beacon, probe, shovel, and backpack.I am coming with some friends. Can we be in the same group?
We can accommodate group requests. Our camps are geared toward small groups and will only divide if there is a distinct difference in ability level. If a split occurs, you and your friends will be placed based on the minimum ability skier or rider.Where should I stay during my camp?
Our lodging partner is Basinview Lodging, which is located here in the Ogden Valley. For discounted lodging, visit https://www.basinviewlodging.com/. Receive 12% off the nightly rate by booking directly through the website or over the phone (877-686-4733).What is the cancellation policy?
Powder Mountain relies on reservations to staff accordingly, and availability is limited for our camps. It is imperative that reservation changes are kept to a minimum to ensure accurate staffing and optimal service to participants. We offer full refunds if the cancellation occurs more than 2 weeks before the camp. Within 2 weeks we offer a 50% refund, and within a week we charge full price. Please email skischool@powder.org for any cancellations.
